Road Widening and Permanent Works under Phaling Thromde (2021-2022)
The project for Road Widening and Permanent Works under Phaling Thromde is aimed at improving road capacity, safety, and resilience in one of the key urban centers of eastern Bhutan. As traffic volume and urban activities increase, the initiative focuses on providing a durable and efficient road network that meets modern standards.
Scope of Work:

Road Widening – Expansion of existing carriageways to accommodate higher traffic flow and improve mobility.

Pavement Strengthening – Upgrading base layers and surfacing with bituminous concrete to enhance durability and ride quality.

Drainage System – Construction of side drains, cross-drainage structures, and culverts to ensure effective stormwater management.

Retaining & Protection Works – Erection of retaining walls, breast walls, and slope stabilization measures to prevent erosion and landslides.

Road Furniture & Safety Features – Installation of signage, lane markings, pedestrian crossings, and guardrails for road safety.
