Development of Infrastructure for Jungshina–Pamtsho LAP (Package XI)(2020-2021)
The Jungshina–Pamtsho Local Area Plan (LAP), Package XI, is designed to provide core urban infrastructure that will enable systematic, sustainable, and inclusive growth in the Thimphu Thromde area. The project aims to establish a well-serviced and resilient neighborhood that meets the needs of residents, businesses, and institutions.
Scope of Infrastructure Development:

Roads and Footpaths – Construction of internal road networks, pedestrian walkways, and access routes to ensure smooth mobility and safe connectivity.

Stormwater Drainage – Laying of surface drains and culverts to prevent flooding and safeguard property during monsoon seasons.

Water Supply Network – Provision of a reliable piped water distribution system with household connections.

Sewerage and Sanitation – Establishment of sewer lines, manholes, and treatment connections to improve public health and sanitation standards.

Green and Community Spaces – Development of parks, open spaces, and recreational facilities to enhance livability and promote social well-being.
Objectives:

The Package XI works represent a crucial phase of the Jungshina–Pamtsho LAP, reinforcing Thimphu’s vision of becoming a sustainable and well-planned capital city.
